Filing an Annual Return (AR01)
with Companies House
An annual return must be submitted each year to Companies House to confirm the information they hold for the company’s officers, registered office, shareholders and share capital.A company director is legally obliged to file an annual return for their company. Each year, Companies House will write to the directors at the registered address of the company informing them of the need to submit an annual return.

Companies House will send a second email, normally within 2 working days, to inform you if your data has been accepted or rejected. If your data is rejected the reasons will be included in the email. Late returns
If a return is not filed or is filed more than 28 days after the company’s ‘made up date’, penalties will be issued. Further delays or forgetting to file the return will result in a company being struck off preventing further trade.
